Welcome to Bluelabs Photography’s website. I am Allen Kinnard, Photographer. My beautiful wife Angie and I work as a team. At Blue Labs Photography, we strive to capture those unforgettable moments in yours and your loved ones lives through the art and passion of photography. We promise you images you will cherish for a lifetime. We also treat our brides like the V.I.P. that she is.

Where did the name Blue Labs come from? We have always loved labrador retrievers. Our current Labrador is a chocolate lab named “Victoria Rose”. She is a loving family member and our inspiration for the name of our business. She is a people lover and very loyal like her owners.

While I was in the eleventh grade I took a yearbook/school newspaper class which meant taking photos to capture those great moments we all remember in high school. This was when I was awakened to the world of art and compassion through photographic images. I fell in love with the concept of capturing a memory for a lifetime. My first camera was a Pentax. While in college, I continued to study and take photography classes as well as pictures. This is when I was introduced to my first Nikon camera. I have only bought Nikon cameras since.

Right out of High School I started working with several photographers taking family portraits to doing weddings. This is where I developed my creative eye, but also became frustrated with the limited aspects of film. I loved creating wonderful images, but I was very limited due to the cost and time required with film. This has changed drastically with today’s digital camera’s I have gone from taking only a couple of hundred images during a wedding, to several thousand. This has allowed us to become very creative in the images we take.

For more than 20 years I have continued to take classes and to attend professional photography workshops to sharpen my skills and learn how to always technically achieve the results you will love. As well as staying up to date with modern technology. We are definitely living in a digital world now. My wife and I are both trained in digital darkroom and do all enhancements right here. At Blue Labs Photography, we know it is very important to always have a backup on hand when at sessions to avoid mishaps. You will never catch us without a few extras.

On June 21st, 2011 we moved into our new office on 350 Main Street, suite H1 Pleasanton, California. The office is open by appointment only, so call and come check it out.

Angie and I met over 14 years ago. For some reason, she fell in love with me and has endured over 12 years of marriage. Being a husband and wife team gives us a unique perspective with our art. We truly understand the raw emotion of the situation and this allows us to capture the love and feeling you have.

We have 5 kids, 3 girls and 2 boys. Their ages range from 27 to 5. We are excited to tell you we have our first grand child. We love our kids and share our passions for photography with them. As a matter of fact, our second shooter is our beautiful daughter Jessica. I guess that means we are a family oriented business. Our twelve year old son even likes to help hold a reflector or flash here and there to help get those perfect shots. Our five year old tells us ooh and ahh when he loves an image we are retouching. His new thing every time we go out the door now is to ask us if we are going to shoot a wedding.
